Field Days

Compact one-day trainings
Field Days are intensive one-day trainings for farmers who want to take a closer look at their soil. Whether you’ve completed the Bodenpraktiker course and want to deepen your knowledge or are looking for a compact way to dive into regenerative soil health, this session is designed to get you quickly from observation to action.
Our “field days” come in various formats – from 3-hour lecture events with practitioners in the evening to field days customized to particular areas (fruit, hop or wine farming, etc.) and in-depth seminars to learn new soil tools (e.g. microscope your soil).
Our next Field Day is a microscopy course with Arved Meinzer on June 30th in either Deggenhausertal or Salem.

“We know that committing to ten days of training - especially for smaller farms - isn’t always possible. Field Day is our response. It captures the core of Bodenpraktiker in a focused, energising format that helps you dive in, get inspired, or reconnect with the soil.”
Anne-Sophie Christmann, Programme Lead

Who it's for and what you’ll get
Field Days are for farmers who already work regeneratively or are looking to get started, but don’t have the time for a full-year course. It’s a great fit for those who want clarity on their soil’s current state, hands-on insights, and practical steps they can apply immediately.
You’ll leave with sharpened observation skills, a better understanding of what’s living in your soil, and a clear sense of how to move forward on your own land.

Have a look at our upcoming events:

Microscopy course with Arved Meinzer, June 30th in Deggenhausertal or Salem.
Together with 10 – 15 farmers you’ll have the opportunity to work in pairs at a microscope and examine your own samples. We will take the first steps to easily analyze soil, compost or compost tea under a microscope. You will get to know the most important participants in the soil food web. We will show you how to prepare samples for microscopy, give you tips on the technical requirements of a microscope and the materials needed for accurate analysis.
